Systems Evaluation
Whenever meeting a new customer I always
encourage an initial systems evaluation. It is the best way I know to
introduce myself and meet the key people I will be working with. It's
a chance for you to get your frustrations out on the
table, identify areas you want to improve, and state the goals you
expect
to achieve. In turn I get an overview of your
systems and a chance to identify any immediate ways to improve
things
while also getting
a glimpse of the longer term goals you may have. This is
often the most
important meeting I will have with a new customer. If we
can satisfactorily address some basic who, what, when, why, and how much questions
then we have established the basis for a partnership and can start
planning for and implementing your companies technology future.
